I'm not sick, but sometimes when I sing my nose becomes stuffy. Why?!

Question: I'm in absolutely perfect health, but sometimes when I sing my nose (sorry to be gross) seems to fill up.
I can't get any of the resonation or quality which I get on a good day, and I'm just wondering why the heck it's happening, and if I can do anything about it.

Have you had history of trauma to the nose? If so, you may have a deviated septum.

You may not feel sick but you might also have mild sinusitis or inflamed sinuses without knowing/feeling it.

You may also be taking larger breaths than normal through your nose increasing the amount of allergens or irritants you are inhaling. The only other thing I can think of is that people always have mucous lining the nasal cavity. Perhaps you have more than usual and/or your resonance is shifting the mucous more forward where the airflow is going for the nasal sounds.

Antihistamines or Decongestants should help reduce mucous regardless of whether the mucous is being caused by an allergy but it would probably help you more to take one before the symptoms manifest.

theres nothing wrong with you.
youre just a baad singer
