How can I do cardio workout if I have pain from bone spur?!

Question: I want to start running again but I have a bone spur in my foot that causes the bottom of my foot near the heel to really hurt. Its almost as if its sore and inflamed. I've gone to the doctor and he told me to just wear this boot-like thing every night for about 45 minutes. That was back in November. So far the pain hasn't subsided and seems to have gotten worse (or its more constant throughout the day when it was sporadic before).

ouch i know what you mean im that kind of work out girl and got gout in my foot just recently it suck sorry i loved running as well but sice i cant do that anymore i dance alot it keeps me inshape and feeling good i also do crunches that help and this is going to sound weird but it really does work lay on ur stomach grab your ankles and rock back and forth it will be hard ar first but tottaly worth it in the end youll work out your thighs, stomach and butt it works believe me it does work

ur doc might be able to treat it with a cortisone shot, if you haven.t already you might try going to a podiatrist....

bone spurs either have to be removed surgically or will eventually go away on their own. i was told by my orthopedist is from not wearing the right shoes with running or power walking...not enough cushion in the heal. when i first started to run marathons i didn't know what the right shoe was or really the correct way to run and i got bone spurs in both heels...very, very painful and i had to lay off running for a year. it was painful just to stand up. tell your doc that you aren't getting any better and see what he suggests.
