Are there any alternatives to foot surgery?!

Question: I have slight bunions but
The real pain is caused by my metatarsal tilting outward and my big toe tilts inward which causes the bunion to protrude.
This is genetic and is NOT noticeable without x-rays.
It is PAINFUL
IF I choose the surgery, I will have a screw in my foot for the rest of my life!
Is there any other way?

Podiatrist! They specialize in problems with feet and therefore gait: the way we hold our body when we walk. I have RA and have just received my first set of custom made insoles. However they are only half insoles as they want my toes to be able to 'spread' so as I age and the toes get.....
The problem being my feet were rolling inwards, so now they are not thanks to the insoles. You may want to ask about this, however be warned, realigning feet does not happen over night, it takes weeks and months of wearing in the insoles and rebuilding muscles in the feet. Likewise I was told to throw away the high heels in 1994 and so I did, now I am not allowed to wear them, because it will lead to hammer toe, bunions, further ankle, knee, hip and back problems, makes me wonder why they designed high heels, because later in life, you start to know just how much damage you have done in the name of fashion. Best of Luck
