I just got new shoes (Asics) and got shin splints (i run track) HELP!?!

Question: I run high school track. Two months ago I got shin splints during winter season. They eventually went away. I got splints that time cuz I wore old tennis shoes (bad idea). Now I switched over to Asics (don't remember which specific one) and started spring track practice 4 days ago. Yesterday I got shin splints (i couldnt believe that i got them again so soon).
Is this because of the new Asics shoes? Because I've only worn them like 4 times. I got them at ***** Sporting Goods store because there were no specialty running stores nearby. Did I get shin splints because I was running too hard the first couple of days or is it because I got the wrong shoes?
Oh, BTW by friend told me I should jumprope to strengthen the calves. Should I do this while having shin splints or wait until I don't have them anymore? Please help!!! What can I do to relieve the pain and how many days will it take until they go away? Im a sprinter if that helps.

well, the track season has been going on for two weeks..
and i wear asics volleyball shoes, so do a few of my friends.
and none of us have gotten shin splints.
i think you might want to go talk to your doctor...

oh and try icy hot cream! it helps. alotttt.
haha.
just don't put it on too thick or it can burn you.

It's natural to get random shin splints..my friend and I run track too and she just got them a couple days ago. I don't think it's the shoes fault because everyone on my team uses Asics and they're a great running shoe brand. I don't know how long it'll take to go away but good luck!
