I am very sorry to hear that your brother was bitten so badly he had to go to the hospital. I feel sure the doctors there will know what to do. Dog bites are very common to emergency rooms here in the US, as about 800,000 people per year have to go to the hospital for dog bites, and in 2007, 31 people were killed by dogs. No telling how many are permanently disabled, disfigured, and emotionally scared by dog attacks.

Hope you brother was not hurt badly. God be with you.

ohh. uhh, it could get infected, hepatitis

He will be fine. Rabies are nothing to worry about these days. Odds are he was bitten in the face. I work in the ER children are rushed there all the time with bites to the face.
I often wonder..
why do people let kids get in a dog's face?
The local animal authority will have to keep the dog in quarantine (unless there is a controlled environment for the day to stay in during the quarantine time)

In the county I live, if it is a Pitt Bull, it must be killed.

dogs mouths have a lot of bacteria- they lick their own bums clean!
however, at the hospital they will clean out the wound and most likely give antibiotics. Rabies is very rare and he certainly won't get hepatitis

umm...cancer can possible happen but not to young kids, And watch out for him! remember alway put fresh water on where he has been bite and put some towel on it

hell be fine id rather get bit by a dog than a filthy human mouth oh id rather not get bit but if i had my druthers

Don't worry he's in good hands if he's at the hospital. They know what to do and 3 hours later will have done all that needs doing. Just make sure he plenty of peace and quiet when he comes home.

Rabies is worst, infection could be second worst, have the dog cheched to see if develops the sickness, if you can not get the dog, have the shots at once estemenm@yanoo.com
