Swollen elbow - any ideas?!
Question: Early this week my husband was driving and noticed blood on his driver side door and on his shirt, he doesn't remember hitting his elbow but he had a tiny cut on it. Now (5 days later) his elbow feels spongy, you cannot feel the bone it just feels like a pocket of liquid, it is swollen all around (about a 3 inch diameter), bright red and the skin feels hot. He says on a scale of 1-10 the pain is a 3. We know he needs to have it looked at by a doctor, but my question is does this sound serious, like a trip to the ER or something that could wait until Monday?

probably very infected, could he have been bitten by something? go to the doctor anyway or an afterhours.
