You should only take Aspirin if your doctor tells you to take Aspirin. You can take Tylenol, but limit yourself to no more that 4000mg per 24 hours. You may try, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Advil they may help rotating one of them with the Tylenol.

aleve, extra strength tylenol and a heating pad and something like deep heating rub. All of these are inexpensive and available at walmart

try bengay patches. My arthritic mom swears by them.

Take Aleve or Advil.
Stand with head facing forward...then turn to right; back to front then to left...do slowly. Do 2 sets of 10.
Then roll head clockwise, feeling like a little string is pulling top of your head. Then do it counterclockwise. 3X each way.

Stand with feet shoulder width apart. Roll your back down 1 vertebre at a time, then rise up from waist 1 vertebre at a time. Do 4 times.

Take a very hot shower.

Use Aspercreme or BenGay

Good luck

I've had that a few times. Your muscles are inflammed. You have to take something with Ibuprofen. That helps with any muscle pain. Works for me. With your extent take 2. If you are in extreme pain, like you can't move, I'd take 3. Hope you feel better.

Maggie, in addition to what others have said, Doan's (magnesium salicylate) is great for back and neck aches. Whenever I'm getting ready to move or to help someone else move, I make sure I have a box of Doan's handy. (I don't know what it's called outside the US, but the active ingredient is magnesium.)

Good luck with your move, and with your back!

Everyone will tell you heat but first you need an ice pack on it to prevent any swelling. Use it 20 minutes every hour for 2-3 hours then alternate with heat and ice. A pain reliever like Advil or Motrin is good for inflammation and I would rub a muscle cream on it like Aspercream or Sportscream. I wouldn't use one that burns since this is from inflammation and not arthritis.

aleve.
