As a sufferer of migraines for most of my life...I can indeed 'empathize' and totally DO understand... Over the years I have suffered unmercifully from the debilatating migraine...Believe me when I say>> "I KNOW...Been there done that AND still do!"
However, there are many different avenues to take...depending upon the severity of your migraines AND the primary sources especially "WHY" you may get them...Have you found what your primary 'triggers" are? Have you even attempted to at least begin a headache journal? I strongly suggest that you do this...first & foremost. This head_ache journal will not only assist YOU in determining the triggers BUT will also help any physicians you may eventually seek help from! You certainly need a beginning point... with little info here that you have offered, makes it difficult for others to relate to or intervene with constructive alternatives... May I suggest that you take the initiatve to visit www.WebMd.com go there & type in Migraines...then let your world be infused with a wealth of information. You will be surprised when you really learn about ALL the horrific headaches people deal with. Primarily, the 'rebound headaches' which many suffer from but have no idea that they do! Rebound headaches are due to so many of us taking OTC9over_the_counter) meds in hopes of alleviating the awful headache pain we suffer...BUT little do we realize that our consuming more & more OTC in hopes of ridding ourselves of the debilatating headache, we are in fact causing the headache dilemma we are so often caught in! I continue to suffer from debilatating headaches at times, but have found multiple ways of alleviating or lessening the dilemma now that I have educated myself. Please go to www.WebMd.com learn all you can about Migraines...learn what rebound headaches are...you will be amazed...trust me! I currently have multiple migraine perscriptions....BUT I choose to attempt to alleviate the migraine experience first, by taking Feverfew 3x daily...this is OTC(over_the_counter) herbal supplement that I have found truly helps 'allevaite' full fledged migraines....check into that...Then my next suggestion to you of course is the headache diary/journal...you may be surprised at revealing what is the primary troublemaker behind your getting Migraines...Try it...for a few weeks...then look back & see if any info reveals the primary factor in your headache routine. Then I suggest that you simply pack yourself in as much ice as possible...My family does this to me when I have been engulfed in a migraine beyond control....ice around your neck at your temples & forehead primarliy...dark room to lie quitely in and simply no disturbance... Sometimes you may find a little accupuncture type pressure point techniques may help...I do this: take one hand with the thumb & pointer-finger & place with even snugw rotating pressure at the opposite hand right at the thumb palm thick point...apply enough pressure to feel the tenderness, then continue the equal pressure while rubbing in a rotation manner...as you recognize the discomfort you are causing in your thumb palm area, you will notice the headache pain lessen...IT WORKS...try it...But it is only temporary...but does help! Anyone who suffers migraines will appreciate the momentary relief...trust me...Try avoiding alcohol, MSG,CHinese Foods & similar food items that may enhance your likelihood of getting a migraine. True Migraine sufferers learn these little things... Visit www.webmd.co for more guidance with migraines...You will be glad you did. Take care~

Ugh! I know how you feel. Try to hold in your tears though- crying makes your head worse. Try pinching where it hurts and applying a cold wash cloth to your neck. Not much you can do without taking an advil.

Best of luck.

Your M.D. knows of medications developed primarily for migraines. It may require a blood test to ascertain which is right for you and in what dosage. I know of no over the counter med for migraine but you might check with your pharmicist. Best of luck. I feel for you.

IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO TAKE MEDS, I SUGGEST A HEATING PAD UNDER YOUR NECK IN A DARK ROOM.GOOD LUCK

Magnesium helps in some cases.

I have LOTS of personal experience (unfortunately) with migraines. While some say crying makes your head feel worse, sometimes I know I just need the emotional release of letting out a few tears (especially when the pain is that intense). I'm so sorry to hear you've been dealing with migraine pain this intense all day.

I can relate to how frustrating it is to just lay in a dark room all day if you're not getting any pain relief. Unfortunately, anything visual like the tv or computer is going to make the migraine worse (so leave these off). You can try filling your bathtub with hot water (as hot as you can stand it) just a couple of inches of water. Then put your feet in the water (yep, just your feet). The hot water draws blood down towards your legs and feet, releasing some of the blood pressure in your head (yeah, sounds strange but I got this tip from a reliable nurse).

Other things to help: Try accupressure on your hands and feet. Your "brain" point on your foot is the top part of your big toe, and on your hand is the top part of your thumb. You can push the area with your nail, or use the tip of a ball point pen. If you live with someone, have them massage your hands, feet, and neck/shoulders/back (if you're tense in this area). Use an ice pack on the back of your neck and/or on top of where your migraine pain is located.

Are you under the care of a doctor for your migraines? If you're not, you need to be! Start with your primary care, but be prepared for a referral to a neurologist. If you are under a doctor's care already and your migraine continues throughout tonight and into the morning, you probably want to give your doctor a call and see what they suggest you do.

I hope some of this helps!

Reasons and remedies are many, but pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
