Try Mucinex it's great at loosening up mucus. Take Aleve or Advil. Warm compress over ear.

For flu: Drink lots of fluids & water.
Tea with lemon & honey
Gargle with very warm salt water. Gargle with Hydrogen peroxide (feels weird because of bubbles, but works great).

Vit C 2000mg every 2 hours
Suck on Zinc lozenges, suck on Vicks or Halls cough drops with eucalyptus.
Zinc 50 mg.
Vit E 400 IUs 2X/day
Good multi-vitamin/mineral.
Astragalus & goldenseal root (not more than 5 days in a row).

Feel better soon.

Go to Meijer in the med isle they have eardrop med you can use. Also, put a warm compress to the ear.

to help with your earache use similasan earache relief. you can get at your local walmart or any store and take some tylenol and the pain will go away. i give it to my kids whenever they have severe earaches. you can also take an over the counter sinus relief medicine because your earache is probably from a sinus infection or sinus build up.

I used to get earache really bad. I went to the doctors and they gave me ear drops and said I should either put something really cold on my ear (like a bag of frozen peas) or something hot (hot water bottle). Go to the doctor as you may have burst your eardrum (like I did) and they can prescribe something for it. As for the flu, try honey, lemon and ginger in hot water and make sure you rest otherwise the flu won't properly go away.

their is not much of anything that will stop an earache i had them since i was about 2 i tryed everything alot of night i cryed my eyes out becuse of the pain i am now 26 and i still have them every now and then

it is likely caused from drainage in your glands. take an OTC decongestant for the drainage. You can take Ibuprofen for the pain. Try a hot compress for your ear, I use those hand warmer packs they work great. You can also have someone blow smoke in your ear "old wives tale" but it works too.
For the flu, lots of fluids, mostly juices. Lots of sleep and I use theraflu if I have it, if not try a hot tottie of lemon juice sugar and a shot of whiskey or whatever ya have.
