Codeine side effect? Can't sleep at night.?!
Question: I have been prescribed Tylenol w/Codeine for tooth pain. It was really nice to have the pain gone, but I tossed and turned all night long, waking up to general uncomfortableness and sleep apnea type breathing every 40-60 mintutes. I was so happy to have the pain gone, but to exchange it for no sleep doesn't seem like a good idea. Any one else have these symptoms?

When I had my wisdom teeth removed years ago I was prescribed Codeine for the pain....after a long weekend of not sleeping, I called the Oral Surgeons and they told me I must have an *allergy* to it, which was why it kept me awake instead of resting comfortably, so they switched me to something else.
If you can, try and get a different pain reliever. HTH and that you can get some sleep soon!
Everyone's body reacts differently.

My daughter is allergic to Codeine And she does that same gets hyper. You need to stop taking it. Good luck!
