It's been more than 7 days, how come my ear infection hasn't cleared up !

Question: I went to the health center at my university last friday and got diagnosed for my ear infection and I also got antibiotics for it. I've heard that ear infections go away in 5 to 7 days but I believe my ears are still infected because I can still feel the water/fluids in my ear when I try to blow my nose. I just wanna know whats going on. It's really frustrating when you can't hear properly and when you have to ask people to repeat what they just said because everything sounds muffled. I also hate how I can hear myself talking inside my head. Someone help. :[

Did MD culture you to make sure he's giving you an antibiotic that is not resistant to bacteria.?
Return to MD.

Drink plenty of fluids
Try Mucinex It works great.
Pour Hydrogen Peroxide in ears (will feel & sound weird because of bubbles).
Vit C 2000mg every 2 hours for 3 days.
Suck on Zinc lozenges
Zinc 50 mg

Active infection:
Take Astragalus, goldenseal root (not more than 5 days in a row); echineacea

Feel better

Some ear infections can last 12 months. Go back to the doctors and have them checked and get more antibiotics. I let mine go and have now got Benign Positional Vertigo.... nothing serious but can never go away. So go and get rechecked.

try using swim ear, or use a tiny drop of rubbing alcohol. i just got over an ear infection and this is the advice my doctor gave me. symptoms were exactly the same.
