You might also have gall bladder stones. That can be checked with a sonogram.

Gall bladder removal is one of the most common operations in the USA. I had mine removed last year. Doctors don't have to cut you open, but just make three incisions and pull out the gall bladder. Unfortunately for me, recovery wasn't just 2 or 3 days. It was more like a week or so.

Your appendix for one. Get to a doctor immediately.

Is the pain in the lower right region? If you start feeling sick or actually throwing up, that's a sign your appendix is about to blow. Go to the hospital ASAP if that's the case! If standard tummy treatments don't work(Pepto, Gas-X, etc.) and the pain continues more than a couple hours, get medical attention. An appendix issue will not get better, and could kill you if it ruptures.
