My Sons lips are blueish?!

Question: Hi i just picked my son up from nursery and the girls that worked there were quite concerned that his lips had gone blue, it's been a nice day here the sun is out and almost all the other kids where playing outside, they kept him in to make sure he was warm, yet the blueness stayed the whole day.

He's a 3 Year old boy.

They have gone normal now with a nice cup of choco and i will continue to keep my eyes open for any blueness but should i be concerned about this could it be something alot worse?

blue lips is a sighn of cyanosis, he could have a serious condition and should be looked at as soon as you are able to get him to the doctors

cyanosis = blue coloration of the skin and mucous membranes due to the presence of deoxygenated hemoglobin in blood vessels near the skin surface, or a reduction greater than 5 gm% of hemoglobin. It occurs when the oxygen saturation of arterial blood falls below 85%

he might have anemia check it out with the pediatrician

You should get him to a doctor. It may be he is not getting enough oxygen. Don't fool with his health!! Doctor now!!

See a doctor, ASAP..!
