Depending on how old you are, it's either a good amount of sleep for a teen or too much for an adult.

Try to have regular bedtime routine
If you have a lot on your mind write down your thought & worries on a sheet of paper & put them away.
Eat small sandwich with whole grain bread & lean protein.
When you haven't been able to fall asleep within 20 minutes, get out of bed and read something boring, watch TV (no computer), then when you feel tired go back to bed
If happens again, repeat.
DO NOT look at clock during night.

Try drinking Traditional Medicinal's "Nighty Nite" or Celestial Season's "Sleepytime" teabags.

Sweet Dreams!

If you're not into over-the-counter sleeping pills, try an herbal remedy called 5-HTP. I don't know a lot about it, except that it works with your seritonin receptors in the brain, to calm and relax you. It's worked for me, but if you're not sure, do a little research into it. Good luck.

I used to have trouble sleeping as well.
But I found that when I used the right combination of sounds/music, that's when I started sleeping much better.
And now I have little trouble getting the sleep I need.

It seems to be helping a lot of people & takes out the years of experiments I went through.
Hope that helps.

Some warm milk at bedtime might help. Other remedies can be found in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".
