What did I do....?!

Question: ....to my hip?
I was running a LOT of sprints one night, and later that night everytime I walked on it or put any kind of pressure on it, I felt a horrible pain. And for the next day or 3 the pain was excruciating. I can't really explain the pain, though. Its about 3 weeks later and still, when I run or sprint, I will get the pain back. The pain has gone away for the most part, but it still gets pretty painful after running or sprinting. I'm also a volleyball player and dive on both hips quite frequently. What do you think I did to my hip?
Thanks for your help!

There is a good chance that you flared the 'bursa', which an easy medical term is: bursitis [inflammation of the bursa]. I had this happen not too long ago myself, when I took an unexpected fall...I struggled with the limping pain for quite awhile...then when I had to go to my three month visit to my Rheumatologist, they noticed my limp, asked me 'why' I was favoring & then I simply explained. The Dr. examined me, touched a pressure point around my hip area & said "OK, time to relieve that now, & within moments I was given a 'cortisone injection' directly into the area...owwwwww...However, it was in just moments of the injection, I felt better~ really better! Now, you may find that your pain lessens or increases or flares up...but only you & a Dr. visit may finally end in resolve. I know the discomfort...hope you feel pain free soon! Try typing in www.WebMd.com & enter bursitis see what you may learn...its a great site easy to understand & great avenue for solutions & of course learning medical info that you can easily understand! Take care~

the only way to find out is have it xrayed and see doctorand take care of yourself and get better but not by yourself.

Sounds like something nobody on Yahoo Answers is qualified to treat. See a doctor - preferably, a sports injury specialist.

i would see a doctor.
