12ga Industrial Piercing Having (Serious?) Problems?!

Question: Hello everyone, I'm 20 years old and yesterday I decided to have my industrial that I've been wanting for so long done. The piercing went great, yeah it hurt a bit but nothing I couldn't handle. I hardly bled at all actually. Trouble started when I started cleaning it. I bought some Saelen Water to clean it with, as recommended by the artist. I pour some on the ear and use q-tips to clean it. Although it seems that when I clean it it starts to bleed... nothing gushing but enough to go through 5-10 q-tips soaked in my own blood.

My ear has also been throbbing all day (got it yesterday) and the pain just hasn't seemed to go away. Now last night, I wake up out of bed and I look in the mirrior and one of the holes that wasnt bleeding before was COVERED in dried blood.

Is this a normal thing of industrials? I am quite scared that something went wrong and I don't know how I am going to stop this bleeding. Thank you in advance everyone!

Unfortunately cartilage piercings, especially industrial piercings, are prone to being angry and painful.

After I got my rook pierced, my ear hurt a lot and it seemed to bleed every day for about a week.

To reduce some of the redness and swelling I'd advise doing some sea salt soaks.

Sea Salk Soaks
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a glass of hot water.
Soak the piercing 2-3 times a day for 5-10 minutes.

You can take some Ibuprofen for the pain too. It works suprisingly well.

If it continues to bleed after a week and doesn't show any sign of improving, I'd go back and see your piercer.

Good luck.

That's what you get for purposely mutilating yourself. My advice? Let the wound heal and never do this again. Besides, if you get arrested, before you get tossed into your cell all that crap has to come out.
