Degenerative disc disease/bulging disc/ scoliosis?!


Question: does any one know of any good pain releif? gps dont seem to have a clue what to do with me? (i guess thats because they have never felt the pain) im tiered of been given pain killers that dont work or make me feel ill? and i dont have the energy to exercise every day (never mind if the pain would allow me to) any advise would be great thank you

I think you've hit the nail on the head. You're beyond what a gp is capable of. Since being on pain meds that don't work isn't much of a life, you need to see either a good orthopedic surgeon (to take care of the problem) or a pain management specialist. I don't know how comfortable you are with surgery, but if it were me, I'd find the surgeon to fix the problem.

There are many pain medications. Your gp probably isn't confident enough to be prescribing stronger stuff that would work. On the other hand, if you have to be lucid at work, stronger meds probably aren't the answer.

I had two degenerated discs after my spine fusion. The vicodin that I was given zonked me out and didn't work well enough anyway. Fusion was the only way out of that situation.

Have you tried to see a specialist, like an orthopedic doctor. Usually they take x-rays in the office for a visual look at your problem. You might also look into a Orthopedic Surgeon, more invasive examination...good luck with your solutions
