Anytime you let gas/air out of your stomach, it makes you feel better. Sometimes, right before you puke you will let out air that was blocking the puke and it will make you feel better. You may have done the same w/ a bowel (poop) movement. Like, pass gas before you actually "drop the kids in the pool."

Air in your stomach causes you to bloat (get bigger) and makes you uncomfortable. It's caused by our stomach and intenstines breaking down food. Certain foods, esp. ones w/ fiber, cause it more. Letting it out releases the pressure and gives you relief.

Kind of like... you're holding a 30 lb. bag of dog food in one arm. After awhile, it hurts. When you let go of it, your arm will feel better/feel relieved.

I have no clue why it happens, but it's happened to be a fair share of times. Just tell her to lay down and give her some pain medicine. It helps. I hope she feels better. And tell her not to burp too much, or else she could actually puke.

There was a buildup if gas in her system. Burping obviously lets the gas out and reduces the pressure on her stomach and intestines.

Ah! Dianna, you beat me! Good job. LOL

To put it in simple terms. Gas is bouncing around in your girlfriends stomach making her nauseaus and when she burps all the gas gets released so its not moving around in her stomach anymore.

This has happened to me and its usually when I get the stomach flu. At first she would burp but after a few hours she might throw up
Make sure she drinks a lot of water a sip after every 45 mins even if she might throw it back up

but dont try to suppress it, sometimes actually throwing up is whats best.

but if she can hold it off without making herself feel uncomfortable, that's good

but dont have an "oh my god, don't puke, its bad for you" mentality.
the truth is, puking is actaully what fixes the illness most of the time
