Lower back pain! Please help!?!

Question: Hi, i've had a terrible pain in my lower back for a couple of weeks now. I saw a doctor, and she said its just a strain and that i should take some tylenol and it'll clear up eventually. Its been over two weeks now, and it still hurts. I don't know what to do, i tried using some heating pads that didn't work either...any ideas? Also, is it normal for a strain to last this long?? I'm only 19. Thanks.

try stretching your hamstrings, hip flexors, calf muscles, and feet--any tightness in those can have a pulling effect on the spine all the way up to the neck.

Do gentle mobility drills for the spine (e.g., the yoga cat/cow poses, and the twisting poses), and take your ibuprofen. If you have lavish insurance accupuncture is good but I wouldn't go for it if you have to pay full price. Stay away from chiropractors, though it's not going to hurt if your insurance pays for it, it's just that they are usually very shady (ever had someone who isn't an anesthesiologist try to administer it to you?).

have some1 step on you that might work :/

Maybe you pinched a never, that can be painful

lower spine means that you can have trouble walking or even be parilyzed. You shoudl rest you bac and don't do anything that would use your spine and your back. Lay down more.

You should try laying down on your stomach and putting a pillow underneath your hips, it feels really good and it takes the weight off your spine for a bit.

Hope your pain goes away soon.

One of the best things to do to cure back pain is to stretch the tension in your muscles. To do this, you can do one of two things: take a yoga class where they stretch many muscles in your body. Or you can shower with colder water. Dont forget to take the tylonel along with these two suggestions!

get a deep muscle massage, a proper trained masseur can tel u whats wrong with ur back. and u get a good massage in da process to!

if u tried everthing jus use something to numb it mi mom has bac pains and she has this pad that vibrates he bac and it works

I am 21 years old and I hurt my back at work. They thought it was a strain also. When the pain didnt go away they ordered an MRI. I have 6 buldging disks and a displaced SI joint. Its gonna be with me the rest of my life.

Try laying in a tub of warm water for a while. If nothing else works go back to your doc and as for an MRI

i have the exact same thing, and it comes and goes. it can come from sitting too long or ... other things.

If it cause great concern then see a rheumatologist

Lower back pain can also come from too much SODA, kidney infection, and the thing I found to work best is I cut back on red meat for a week, this accually helped ,as I no longer have that problem.. Alot of things can constitute lower back pain , I ussually just try till it goes ,, keeping track of what I did ..My heart goes out to ya ...

BACK STRAINS LINGER A WHILE. STICK WITH THE TYLENOL

I have chronic back pain that they can't explain. I have had xrays and they say nothing is wrong with my back.
The only thing that makes it feel any better is when I get a massage, a really good manipulative massage.
Maybe you should go back to the doctor.
