Why do I get sleepier when I get more than enough hours of sleep?!

Question: For the last few months, since I started school this semester, I've gotten an average of 5 hours a sleep per day, sometimes as little as two, but I'd done fine throughout the day and managed to stay up all day. Now that I'm on break, I sleep 8-10 hours but I get soooo sleepy during the day that I have to take naps. Is it normal for me to get sleepier as I get MORE hours of sleep at night or is my body just trying to catch up on all that sleep I've been missing out on?

When you do not get enough sleep you cause mental and physical problems. You could say that normal functions have been backed up. Your body and mind are trying to catch up on these functions. With 5 hours of sleep a day you can become depressed, have a nervous breakdown like Mariah Carey had from lack of sleep or cause many serious physical problems.

The quickest way to catch up on sleep is to fast. You will be even more tired and sleep more. Sleep is more important than school. You will not learn much in a mental intuition.

the more you sleep the more tired you get

yeah you need to sleep but try to avoid sleeping a lot!

It could be a lot of things: depression, lack of exercise, stress, diet, exhaustion or even an illness.

your body adjusted to a routine. now your on vacation and sleep too much!

everyone is like that! its normal, if u sleep alot u just get tired ur body is used to gettin less sleep so when u get more hours of sleep itt takes a while to adjust to it
