Need help getting up in the morning?!

Question: Ok seriously I have a really loud alarm (it's called Sonic Boom or something lol) and it not only has a big buzz sound but it also vibrates underneath my pillow. I always set it to 6 am for school and I usually go to bed 12ish so I'm getting enough sleep most nights but even if I wasn't you think I'd be able to get up. Like, my dad can sometimes get only 3-4 hours of sleep and always wake up really early and I'm not even sure he uses an alarm. I don't know how people can do that. Any suggestions?

You need at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep. 6 hours is not enough sleep, and that's what the problem is - your body is so tired from a constant lack of sleep, that it's no wonder that you can't get up. I've done the "4-6" hours of sleep thing way too many times. I'm out of school...but it's hard for me to wake up in the mornings with even 6 hours of sleep. Also, the health affects from lack of sleep can eventually cause your body some serious problems. Such as...whenever you don't get enough sleep, you lower your body's immune system. That makes you more susceptible to colds, viruses, etc. that you normally wouldn't get and/or would have a great ability to fight off with more sleep, even if you did get them.

Not only would less sleep cause you to contract colds/viruses around you, but a continued lack of sleep while you have those things...can prolong them for a very long time and make them a lot more serious than for the typical person who gets a decent amount of sleep.

6 hours really isn't enough but you could try setting the alarm on the other side of the room. That way you have to get up to turn it off.

How long is your "snooze" button lasting? Say it lasts 10 minutes before it rings again. Simply set it your alarm to 5:50 or 5:40, hit the snooze a couple times, and you should be up easier.

Clocky may become your new best friend.

Check this out... I'm serious, It's AWESOME!

you're just lazy man seriously.

Teens actually (as a general rule) need more sleep than kids a few years younger. It's not uncommon for teens to actually do best on 8 to 12 hours a night. I realize that anyone getting 12 hours a night (other than young babies) is probably not realistic. But if your body needs more sleep it just does and you're not going to adapt to less. Your Dad needing less sleep is no guarantee that you will need less. Honestly, you simply require more than 6 hours a night - probably more like 8 hours a night.
Pleasant dreams.
