Stitches on lower lip?!
Question: my son fell last night on his bike and busted his lip, its cut on the outside and inside. its swollen twice its normal size if not more. my question is how do i know if he needs stitches i cant really tell how bad the cut is because its swollen so bad.

Iif a tooth has been pushed out of place, he needs to see a dentist for sure. How old is your son? Is it a baby tooth or permanent tooth?
Put ice compresses on it (20 min. on, 20 min. off) to reduce the swelling. (crush some ice in a plastic bag and wrap in a damp washcloth or small towel). He might need tylenol for pain and inflammation.
Even if the cut doesn't need stitches, the wound needs to be properly cleaned and bandaged and he may need a tetanus shot or antibiotics.
Please don't delay getting him seen. Your son has a nasty injury and you need to get him proper care.
take him to an ER, especially if it's cut on the inside and outside. better to be safe than sorry.
