I sleep so much! my sleep is too deep. how can i regulate it?!

Question: try a relaxation tape: I got a really good download for sleep on the website www.pzizz.com and its really helped me.

But also, theres this thing I was informed about by a sleep neurologist who saw me as my sleep is also all over the place, its called "sleep hygene"
go to bed and get up the same time every day, no excuses, dont do lie ins until your sleep is more normal, it can take months until you can do this.
dont take caffine 8 hours before you sleep (caffine is in coffee, tea, redbull, chocolate, paracetamol....always check the label!)
excercise EVERY day, atleast for 20 mins a day, and try to make this out side.
Make sure you see daylight everyday, it helps to regulate your body, if all you see is indoor lighting then you'll find it harder to switch off when you try to sleep 15 hours after you have turned them on.
DONT take sleeping pills, they will make you drowsy but not give you natural sleep, your body wont recover and repair as normal and you will not feel as rested. This will also mean you can become sleep deprived in some ways.
Get a lumie lighted alarm clock to wake you, it imitates sunlight and will help your body to adjust and wake up on time whatever or however dark your room is.
Deal with any stress by writing it down, if it becomes too overwheling see a specialist/therapist/councellor to work though it. Sometimes sleeping too much can be a way of blocking out stress and you may find if you deal with that stress you feel more able to wake up and wont have the same coma-like sleeping episodes as before.

If its disturbing your life too much and your not copeing, see a doctor who can refer you to a specialist, it could be a symptom of something underlying that needs to be addressed.

I seriously doubt that you sleep to much or too deep. You didn't say how old you are, but teens need 9-10 hours of sleep a night, adults 7 to 9 to function at their best.

This was all on "60 Minutes" the other night.

I have this problem too, I cant regulate mine at all. Do you suffer with anything else that may explain it? I suffer with quite bad depression with which most people cant sleep. I however, am the opposite that I wake up. I just wonder if your sleep is to do with something else that maybe the doctor should be helping you with. Maybe you should see your doctor about it.
