Ultram and prozac?!
Question: anyone take these drugs without any adverse side affects. Can someone give me a little info on pain meds since my doc says Lotab 10/500 is the strongest narcotic. He put me on Talwin which after reading the inserts seems somewhat dangerous, hallucinations, etc. I have C 5,6,7 herniation with nerve damage associated with that region. Have done web searchs but come up with nothing. need a personal advice here.. ty ( ultram and prozac are contraindicated, seizeures, seritonin syndrome)

Tell your doctor he is full of it. I read this and am trying to find it, I know I read you DO NOT MIX THIS! The simultaneous use of fluoxetine with triptans, tramadol or other serotonergic agents can result in a rare, but potentially life-threatening adverse drug reaction called serotonin syndrome. however;
The serotonergic modulating properties of tramadol mean that it has the potential to interact with other serotonergic agents. There is an increased risk of serotonin syndrome when tramadol is taken in combination with serotonin reuptake inhibitors (e.g. SSRIs), since these agents not only potentiate the effect of 5-HT but also inhibit tramadol metabolism. Tramadol is also thought to have some NMDA-type antagonist effects which has given it a potential application in neuropathic pain states.
Yor Doc probably thinks it is a non narcotic too! Nuts. It is a terrible drug. Type in Ultram sucks on google and take your Lauries! This is a horrible drug.
i took an ultram yesterday and was vomiting within 4 hours and felt really sick and dizzy.I took codeine 30mg/500mg paracetamol when i tore ankle ligaments and that took away pain without leaving any side effects except sleepiness and a nice calm feeling.hope this helps a bit,sorry to hear you're in pain,talk to your physician.
i m sorry this is first question more me which I'm not answered bcoz both ultram and Prozac r trad name if u on line than write same question with salt name ( salt name u can found on medicine or can ask Ur to Ur chemist ) than i will can say u all adverse effect and contraindications. i m on line all time, this time i m sorry
