Do i need an antibiotic?!

Question: It started with a severe sore throat. That lasted a day! Low grade fever of 99.6 for two days. Some coughing up green stuff (i know gross) Same thing with my nose, however not runny nose just green every morning. Do I need an antibiotic? My antibiotic says it not for a cold or the flu or will it treat a viral infection... is this what i have??? So yes or no to antibiotic.

(my doctor gave me cephalexin over the phone without seeing me)

It sounds like strep to me, which you need to treat yes. It will go away on it's own but a cycle of antibiotics wil help.

Hi ,sorry to listen that u had saviour throat pain .But to be frank throat pain don't come by them-self they are result of not taking care of what rae u drinking and at what time . eg drinking to cold water after returning to home from outside in hot summer day may result in bad day for you. so plz take some hot water for few days bad don't drink any thing from out side and u will be okay .but show to an doctor.

The green stuff means you have an infection and you could take care of it by your self by resting and vitamins and eating well but it does take a while. I think if you want to get better faster i would take the prescription. Get well soon!
