My knee hurts...? Read details please?!
Question: i don't know what happened but my knee severely hurts and is swollen. every time i walk it is like a sharp shooting paing going directly at my knee. also today my knee collapsed and i fell to the ground. what happened????

i agree that u need to see a doctor... ur knee callopsing is not a good sign...
i injured my knee in June(MCL) and it still wasnt quite healed and i knew that something wasnt right.. but all i was experiencing was pain, well i had my appotinment on wednesday with the ortho to see about having to have surgery... but then on sunday(early monday morning really) my knee collasped and made a grinding /ripping sound... so now i am right back to square one(immobloizer and crutches)... i still go to the doctor tomarrow so ill see what happens then...
get an appointment with ur doc or if the pain is bad and ur knee feels as though it may still give on u i would go to the ER or and immediate care center..
stay off ur knee as much as possible... best of luck

I have this problem too. Have you had a bad history with your knees or any previous injuries?? It sounds like your knee gave way on you. It could be a knee cap dislocation or even an ACL tear if you have severe pain.
If it makes you feel any better, I have a completely torn ACL on my left knee and I just dislocated my right knee cap yesterday. That's what I get for playing so many sports. haha. Maybe you are in the same situation....
I would def go see a doc asap. I have had torn medial and lateral meniscus (sp) and a torn patella fragmenta, the cart. behind the knee. knee collapsing is a bad sign. Does it pop a lot. I know that is a huge sign of torn cart. as well.Fix the prob asap before it gets worse. physical therapy might help. They tried to fix mine through therapy, but ended up doing surgery. Make sure to ice it a lot. Good luck!
i had those symptomos and i almostt fell back getting up after sitting. the doc said i had a 'inflamed tendon'..
i think it is a muscle in your knee..
could be sumin completely different though!
