Flat foot problem (any nurses or doctors who can help?)?!

Question: I've had a problem with my knees for a while now (they pop and crack when i walk and it makes them hurt after a short walk) I went to a physical therapist and i wen there for a while and he said it was caused because i'm a bit flat footed he also noticed that I'm a toe runner. He had me get inserts for my shoes and they haven't really helped, but i remembered something a few days ago. Until i was in about 3rd grade i walked on my toes not my full feet. Should I tell him this. I walk on my feet normally now it's just when i run now. PLEASE HELP. I'm only 15 years old and I don't know how much more I can take of this!

You could try standing only on your heels for about 5 minutes every hour, this should correct the imbalance which is cuasing the pain. Also get someone to take a photo of you in your shorts and t shirt from the side. When viewed, your shoulder, hip, knee and ankle should be in a sraight vertical line, if any of the joints are out of line or your shoulders are ahead of your ankle, then you will have to correct your posture, this will help remove your discomfort. The other point to remember is that your bones may be growing faster than your muscles are developing so you shoud lay off of the running for a while or you could do serious damage to your knees, l did this and i have been paying the price for the last 40 years. You should do lots of leg strengthening exercises and lots of cycling in a low gear and look for hills to climb, ladders, and best of all always use the stairs never escalators or lifts. There is nothing wrong with toe running if you keep your legs strong and flexible.

you'll grow out of it im the sameway as you are in the feet toe runner flatfooted thats me too
