About my skull?!

Question: I am a female and since I was 16 I have always noticed a dent in my skull...not a huge one, but there is one. its on the right side towards the top. I have alwaysso been scared to touch it directly. But the other day I did, and it dont hurt it just feels odd- like a dent! Do you think I should be worried about this? Do any of you have something like this?
I dont remember much of anything from when I was a child..so I cannot tell you if I was hurt. My mother said I had a broken collar bone----I dont remember it. I can only remember my teen years..and I am only 20!!! I cant remember much...I dont know why...Do any of you have that problem too??

I forget what they were called, but a while back, there was an 'interest' in, (and a 'group of people', who STUDIED) the SHAPE of people's heads! From what (admittedly) LITTLE I have been able to gather, THAT effort, while 'entertaining', had NO Scientific value!

Remember... children are born with 'soft' (hate to SAY it that way) heads... It IS possible to SHAPE them...

AND, there ARE 'places', where the bone is sort-of 'recessed', to allow blood vessles, etc., to GO where they need to GO! (I guess I'm saying, make sure that BOTH sides of your head are the same!!! You might have the same 'dent' on the other side, and never paid attention to it!)

I can FEEL MY 'cranium', and notice a LOT of 'irregularities!' I have never 'dwelt' on it! I have normal (or maybe slightly +) IQ (last time I was tested - 30 -40 years ago)! I've probably put a few more 'dents' in it since then...

I don't know how , or why, you 'noticed', at "16", but if you are still functioning properly, don't worry about the 'irregularities' in the shape of your head! You probably have a few HIGH spots, TOO! Does a 'HIGH-spot" make you SMARTER? OR give you a "PLUS" in some area(s)? Or, a 'dent', take something away...??? NO!!! Welcome to the normal world, which includes all the variations that exist between the MILLIONS of people on this planet, and which make YOU - yes YOU!!! - a UNIQUE individual!!

From what I have read, you sound like you can compose your thoughts well! Don't worry about the 'bumps', or 'dents' on your head, unless you are 'WILLING, and / or PLANNING' to get a few more!!!

On the other hand... if you ARE worried about it... I suggest that you ask you Mom, Dad.... whoever might KNOW... Did you ever suffer some 'OTHER' TRAUMA? You have 'asked' a 'legitimate' question! You stated that you had a broken collar bone! It's possible, that you also had a 'trauma' to your head?

When I was a KID... YEARS ago, MY SISTER took a HAMMER to MY head! 'We' (me, my brother, and my sister) were VERY young... taking a bath in one of those old galvanized wash-tubs... THREE of us in one tub, so we WERE VERY young! I can't remember how / where she got the hammer -- why she hit ME, instead of my brother -- MAYBE it was a PLOT!!! Maybe I'm 'reaching' for something??? But, if I FEEL the left side of my head, I can almost say that she hit me "HERE", "HERE", and 'HERE"... ??? 50 + years ago??? I don't know!?!?!?

I'm not saying you shouldn't investigate it, but I AM saying that if all you are worried about is a 'dent' here, or a 'bump' there... Without having some 'THING', or 'REASON' to pursue it... I wouldn't worry about it...!!! I remember when I was in High-school, we used to call each other "BUMPY"... I KNOW it was a reference to that thing about the shape of the skulls... (And, it was associated with SOME kind of 'behavior', that my 'cronies' and I thought was "UNCOOL!") (WE didn't RUN in 'GANGS', so THAT is NOT what I'm talking about!) I wish I could remember what that 'scientific effort' was called... I'm SURE you can find it under 'PSYCHOLOGY', if you really want to pursue it!

If you are REALLY worried about it... Go see a DOCTOR... !!! ALWAYS seek the help from a PROFESSIONAL... especially if there is a 'Question' in YOUR mind about the veracity of any 'answers' that you might receive from friends (you probably haven't even mentioned this to your 'friends' - they might think you are 'bumpy'!!!), or from the "ANSWERS" crew - (no offense meant to anyone)! But, a Doctor can EXAMINE you, and SEE / FEEL what you are describing... and be better equipped to make a determination / recommendation! HE / SHE can ASK QUESTIONS, while YOU are THERE to ANSWER... Instead of 'fishing' around for something that 'sounds-like'... if you understand what I'm trying to say!

Hey... GOOD LUCK!!! I hope that you are concerned over NOTHING!!!

Bill

So you've got a dented skull. Big deal. Nobody's perfect. Stop worrying.

Don't worry at all my dear. Its absolutly fine. My friend ever had accidient badly and one side of his face was crushed completly and still he is alive.
Me also, my skull is not in proper shape and i was worried that as if i grow more and more my skull will also take bad shape but it didn;t happen cause doctor say its normal and don;t pay attention to it.

You also shouldn't be paying attention to that dent. Just feel like that you are like others. Nothing is wrong with you and nothing to be worried about.

Worry will arise the questions and you will run here and there to find the answers of the questions which are meaningless.
