How come I'm so tired???!

Question: I've gotten TONS of sleep for the past couple weeks... At least 8hrs a night... Usually, I've been sleeping only about 6 or so... I have been sick since the 8th, but it's almost gone...

I just don't understand why I'm so tired when I've gotten plenty of sleep! I haven't gotten "too much" sleep... I do know that.. Cause I haven't had more than 9 or 10 hrs of sleep a night... and that was probably only 1 or 2 nights... It's been around 7.5 - 8hrs...

:-(

It might be your iron level. If your body is low on iron you can get drowsy. I had the same problem you should try taking iron tablets daily..it helps a bit

You should go to ur GP and ask for a blood test to read your iron levels.. because low iron levels can leave you tired even if you do have enough sleep.

ask your doctor but it could be nothing dont worry peaple that sleep more that do not have a illness or other stuff are healthier

you need to see a doctor.

well i would try not to change your sleep habits

Something else that works well is a multi b complex vitamin. They are available with a bunch of vitamin b components. They can be expensive, but may help.

If you get too much sleep, actually, you could get dizzy and that would keep you feel sleepy, and consequently sleep for more. It could only take few days or nights for your body to adjust to this new sleep pattern.

Not enough food intake could also cause this. If eating resolves your problem, this means you're hypoglycemic - meaning you don't have adequate supply of glucose to fuel your brain.

Check the supplements you take, if you are taking one or two.
Sometimes these supplements contain substances that give you the feeling of down. Most specially these are the new supplements you've been recently taking.

A lack or falling amount of certain nutrient/vitamin or mineral in your body could also cause it. But also taking too much vitamins or of high dose in a long period of time is not good specially the fat soluble vitamins which could damge your liver. Give your body a breather from those fat soluble vitamins.

I don't wanna scare you, but this condition is sometimes one of the symptoms of or leading to a bad health or something like degenerative or auto immune deficiency disease.

But don't go to your doctor just yet. Sometimes, your condition is due to a sudden lifestyle change. Try to remember what were the recent things that you've been doing that give you stress over the day or the feel of being so tired. Your condition could also be an effect of over-fatigue.... even too much thinking without physical exertion can cause fatigue or stress. So, try to remember and eliminate first the things that could cause you this.

Going to a doctor is another stress or just by thinking you need to see a doctor because you are sick is another stress.
And needing to take advices or medicine is again another stress.

All of those can give you the feel of being so tired.

So, know first your body before you go to a doctor. Because when you see a doctor he/she will ask you about this, anyhow. If you could resolve this by doing the things mentioned above, it would be a lot better, and seeing a doctor would not be necessary. Also, your body chooses the best mechanism to bring your body and feel back to normal. And just maybe sleeping is its choice and hopefully that will work.

But, if nothing works, it's always best to see a doctor and let him/her rule out your condition. Sometimes, we only know that much.

Take care.
