Why is it bad to use visine daily?!

Question: I have really dry eyes that are being helped by Restasis and tear duct plugs, but they are still red :(
Visine helps take care of that, but I've heard it's bad to use often. I have an appointment with my eye doc in 2 weeks, but am curious now because I don't like being all bloodshot all the time.
Thanks!

Visine only constricts the vessels in your eye and does not cure the underlying cause of whats causing them to dilate. Also, if you use them too often it can cause vaso-rebound thus making them appear even redder then before. Try to limit it's use and talk to your eye doctor to confirm what the cause is.

Possible causes could be either allergic reaction, infection or that your eye is not getting enough oxygen. Also if your wearing contacts, make sure you are cleaning them often as well using them properly. Never use eye drops on top of contacts unless directed to do so.

Visine is for the reddness, and it works by constricting blood vessels in the eye and therefore limiting blood supply. In small measure, this is no big deal, but it is not intended for daily use.

If you have dry eyes, you should be using plain saline (or if you want to spend a lot more money, 'rewetting drops') as that adds moisture, but does NOT constrict blood vessels.

cause visine has all of that pharmaceutical crap in it. I honestly don't know how to get rid of it myself. If you drink then you should cut back if thats the case.
