Knee Surgery Recovery?!

Question: I had orthoscoptic ACL reconstructive surgery. Two screws put in with some cartilage taken out. 6 months later I still have occasional pain and it now pops like you crack you knuckles. Will it ever be normal?

This is not normal post reconstructive surgery, given that you followed your rehab program as directed and that you did not reinjure your knee after surgery. Have you discussed this issue with your doctor? Do you have good VMO (quadriceps strength)... if not it could be that your knee cap is not gliding normally.

Talk to your MD and ask for repeat xrays and MRI to make sure that the screws are in proper position. Sometimes the screws may back out of place and could cause this problem? This surgery is too expensive just to let it go... Good Luck!
