A numb lump on shin after a bad bruise?!

Question: About a year ago, I happened to ram my leg under a radiator whilst jumping out on someone from behind a bed. It really really hurt and I put cold compresses on it. It swelled up pretty soon into this numb lump on my shin which hasn't gone. When I touch it lightly, I cannot feel any sensation, and if I push down on it or knock it, it hurts. Earlier on when I first got the lump, when I pressed on it it kind of squished. An answer to a long thought about question would be really great.
Thank you.

When it first happened it was a collection of blood under the skin and overlying the bone. After awhile, the body tries to re-absorb the fluid from the blood and it will leave a calcified "lump" almost like new bone in it's place. This is very common with baseball and softball players that take hits on their shins with baseballs. it may re-absorb or it may stay there and only get a little smaller over time. Good luck

sounds like a big bruise with associated nerve damage, be careful not to get a wound or infection there.
If it is still lumpy there now you have some permanent damage, next time you go to a doctor show it to them.
