What causes cramps?!

Question: I get them a lot, usually in my feet from just stretching them, and it HURTS. I also get them after nights such as formal, but in my calves. Other times I have no idea why I get them, I just wake up and my calves are cramping and I start screaming.

The "wake up and scream" problem is really a serious problem and you should go to a doctor immediately.

If you want the biological answer, then it is because of lactic acid buildup caused by lack of oxygen.

If you put your hands laced behind your head (especially while running) and take very deep breaths, then the cramp should go away. If it doesn't, go to the doctor again.

lack of salt or magnesium could do it, try more salt on your food, and a magnesium supplement before going to sleep.
