Yes it should grow back. I slammed my pinky finger in my Jeep door and thought I broke it. Fortunately the x-rays showed I didn't. It got about as big as my thumb and hurt like crazy. My nail stayed on though because I hit just above the nail. They had to rip my nail off, and it took a little bit to grow back. I didn't think it would, but thank God it did. You should be fine, just make sure you take care of it.
