Answers: it feels like my throat is trying to close. what to do???

U need to get to a doctor or the emergency room ASAP..If u have an advice nurse or someone u could call that wouldn't hurt either. U might be having an allergic reaction to something, so allergy meds might be in order. If u have benedryl might want to take that if u are able to. If ur throat swells close ur air will be restricted, u could lose consciousness, air to ur brain and do all kinds of irreparable damage. Better to be safe than sorry, go get checked out. All the best.

Could you be having an allergic reaction to something?

Get help from a doctor soon

Go see a doctor asap. Could be mono or strep, or something else that would require antibiotics before you'll start to feel better.

Drink plenty of water and take some advil in the meantime to help with the pain.

Dear friend you have not said if you have pain in the throat or not.
Anyway the common problem in the throat are Pharyngitis and Tonsilitis
Diphtheria is almost eradicated by immunisation.
Uvulitis is rare in some patients.
I presume the throat closing feeling and difficulty in swallowing and pain will prevail in TONSILITIS situation.
Immediately you have warm saline gargle at least 6 times a day.(one teaspoonful table salt in a cup of warm water)
Then you have to have antibiotics as per your physician's advice.( Normally Ampicillin or Amoxycillin 1 gm /day fr 4 days administered orally in devided doses.
(Tonsilitis means swelling of Tonsil glands situated at both sides of throat .)
If you hv temperature you can take Paracetamol 500 mg 2 doses / day
wish you fast rcovery
