No caffeine (cola has caffeine) past 6 pm, try drinking a cup of warm milk, or drinking chamomile tea, do not read in bed, or do other things in your room (like no TV), etc. Keep getting to bed at the time for bed - 10 pm is good for getting 8 hrs. for 6 am wake up.
Or, a warm bath, and one important thing. If you have anything on your mind that you are worried/stressed about at bedtime, or in the evening, please, try not to think on those things when it's time for bed. Easier said than done.
Understood. I once had a Pastor share this with his congregation:
When he comes home from working at the church all day, as he approaches the front door of his home, in his imagination, he places all his concerns, worries, work on the bush outside the door. Then he goes inside his home, and he is there for his wife and children. Those "things on his mind" if he wants/needs to, on his way out the next day, can pick them up off the bush by the door (imagination helps sometimes).
You may need to start with going to bed at 9:45, but hopefully you will stop staying awake so long, and can just plan on bed at 10 pm.
Also, if it were to become a big time habit of staying awake that long (due to worries, stress, etc.) then I would ask that you have your Mom make an appt. for you to see your Dr. about this.
I wish you the best. Take care.

Perhaps some warm milk at bedtime might help. Other remedies can be found in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

yes buddy,

i have a solution to your problem, for a good sleep you have to bring certain changes in your daily habits like :

read a book, take a warm shower then go straight to bed, exercise before going to bed, get a CD with noises of water or nature, get a fan and turn it on for some noise, think and say to yourself to sleep, count numbers backwards. good luck. i have had a lot of troubles in the past

There is a homeopathic formula that both my husband and I have found very helpful in treating insomnia. It's a Hyland's brand and is called Calms. We've had great luck with it in helping us fall asleep, especially when were stressed. You can buy it usually at Rite Aide or Walgreens.
