I started lifting weights and notice my left shoulder has a weakness...?!

Question: and a little bit of a popping crackling sound. It is in the back part of my shoulder. Now there is very little pain I can still lift heavy weights and it doesn't really hurt but feels a little weak. Dont really know what it could be I want to continue lifting weights but I dont want any serious injury to occur. What do you think it is?

The popping and crackling noises are often just ligaments and tendons moving over bone... not necessarily a big deal. It's possible you have a slight misalignment in that shoulder that's causing weakness. It would be a good idea to make sure you're working the smaller muscles that surround the shoulder, to get it, or keep it, aligned properly. Anything to help keep the shoulders back and down. Lat pull-downs are good, but there are other exercises that will require little, if any, weight. The movements are usually small, but really help bring the shoulder back to where it belongs. If your posture starts looking better, I bet your shoulder will be doing much better! Good Luck.

Same thing happens to me, stretch it first

I damaged my shoulder years ago, but didn't know about it until the car crash.

Get to a doctor and find out exactly what is wrong, and what exercises to do to strengthen it. You could make it worse by not knowing.
