Oh how I know this pain so well. Did they give you the wax? It helps some but not much. I dunno I just took Tylenol. Ask your dentist what you should do. Believe it or not you'll get used to it. Wait until they start with the tightening, yikes! But it'll all be worth it in the end when you have a beautiful smile, trust. Good luck!
until your cheeks get used to it, you can get some wax that you can apply to the braces so they won't cut your cheeks.
Go to your dentist and show them to him, not sure exactly what you mean by sores. If its just pain your dealing with, get some advil. If its not strong enough, get your doc to prescribe you something.
I used to get some wax they would give me to put over the metal part. Might want to ask about that, or see if there is something like that you can get.
You will get used to them at some point.

Take aspirin. That's the only thing can stop the pain. You shouldn't take anything too strong.
As for the sores, I didn't do anything for that. They'll go away eventually. I would stay away from wax.

Take Peroxyl to help with the cold sores. That product is awesome, I take it and two days later my cold sores are GONE!
Ditto the wax. Did they put the wires on yet? On mine they waited a week and the bare brackets did a number on my gums. Wax definitely helps. It does get better and it is worth it.
