What are signs of dehydration?!

Question: I'm 15 (almost 16), and I feel like I'm ALWAYS dehydrated. How much water am I suppose to drink a day? I drink maybe 2 bottles of water a day, and I drink Propel, and orange juice.

Do I drink enough?

My mouth can become dry really fast - lotion helps though. ;)

And, my lips are dry unless I put chapstick on.

Are these signs of dehydration?

thank you!

it sounds odd but if your urine is really yellow, then you are dehydated.

It is possible you have another issue that we won't be able to pinpoint here, and that I don't know about.

However, the simplest way to check is to pee. If it's relatively clear, maybe just a real pale yellow, you're ok. If it's anything other than that (neon yellow, or orange, etc) you are at least a little in need of water.

Also. You put lotion in your mouth? I'm not aware of a lotion that's labeled for internal use...

To answer the actual questions directly: There's no way to tell by how much you drink without knowing how much exercise you do, what temperature your environment is, etc. The 8 * 8oz glasses thing is retarded, because most people get alot of that purely from food. Just do the piss test.

And, yes, those could indicate dehydration.

heavy cold sweating and shivering or blurry vision are good signs of it too.
