I need a quick fix fast!?!

Question: I did something really stupid. I hurt myself (accidentally, of course). I was exercising on the elliptical and lifted my right foot up and banged it against the front of the machine.

Now from the ankle down I cannot move it or put any presure on it (walk on it). So I'm forced to hop around.

Well, in approximately two hours I have a HUGE rehearsal for the musical I'm in which we perfom in six days. The director will KILL me if I cannot dance today (I have a big part).

Please, what can I do to help my foot??? I already put a cold compress on it and took some advil. Please! Any emergency help would be FOREVER appreciated!

The best thing you can do is be honest with the director, No way you are going to be able to dance with out extreme pain and making it worse,
But sounds like you could have broken something and need an x-ray,

But try ice and elevating it along with pain killers and see it that helps. Make sure you wrap it also if you do dance to give you some support.

Best of Luck.

your screwed

I am no doctor and you should get to the emergency room, you could have chipped the bone. In a pinch I'd wrap it.

Im sorry to have to tell you this, but you should rest it, it could get worse if you keep on moving with it and then you could do yourself some serious damage.x

dude, you broke ur ankle
go to the ER

you teacvher wouldnt want it to get worse

you could have broken it since you cant move it or put weight on it. Try wrapping it with an ace bandage fairly tightly, but not so tight it will cut off your circulation. Also you could ice it for half an hour before rehearsal and take some pain killers. Then after rehearsal ice it again and unwrap it. for now just ice it, elevate it and take some pain relievers. And then try to move it around slowly. if you find you cant dance on it , just try to dance and then fall and grasp your ankle like you hurt it just then. That way the director will have to let you sit out for a while. But first try to ice it and elevate it.

Aloha from Down Unda!
Try extra strength aspirin instead of Advil...add in that [paraterimecedinol (sp?) stuff too].
Most 'over-the-counter' extra strength pain relievers will reduce the pain enough for a day or two to heal so stay off of it as much as practical til it's necessary to 'suck-it-up' & git on wid da show!
[In udda woidz, 'quit whinnin'!]
Best wishes~

RICE (rest, ice, compression bandage and elevation) - that is what I learned in first aid. Not sure that you will be able to dance on this ankle today - you are likely to make it worse and increase the chance you won't be okay to dance in six days. Good luck, though. I would call the director now if possible, and let them know and ask for their opinion.
