Cartilage piercing!?!
Question: I just got my cartilage pierced 4 days ago at claires. When the lady pierced it with the gun it didn't hurt just pinched. And when we left it was fine looked good and just felt a bit like it stung after I just got it. But it wasn't bad. It didn't last more than 5 minutes. And I have cleaned it everyday, 3 times a day with the solution they gave me and turned the earring 3 times a day too. I avoided sleeping on that ear at night. And the past few days its been great and the piercing hadn't bugged me at all. Well my concern is this morning it hurts and its a bit red. I've cleaned around it and no discharge(pus or blood) is coming out. So my question is.. Is it infected? Should I take the earring out? I've been very careful about not touching it and cleaning my hands with antibacterial soap before cleaning or touching my ear.
Also last night I wasn't as careful about not sleeping on my ear, could that be the reason?
Can ppl with the same piercing or experience help me out please

Nope your ear is not infected. I'm 13 and gotten 2 cartilage piercings by claires 3 months ago. Mines did that too for about 3 weeks. It just kept hurting but only when I cleaned it. If its a lil red then its ok. I slept on mines cause I had no choice (it was on both ears lol) but just keep cleaning it and washing your hands before you touch and everything will be ok.
yea mine hurt up to like 3 months after i got it...best thing you can do is try not to sleep on it, or touch it unless you have to clean it...don't worry:) it's very normal for it to be red for at least a month.
Take it out and do it the CORRECT way with a needle. A gun will only cause damage.
it's normal. mine did the same thing and i had to take mine out 5 days a week right after i got it for volleyball, cross country, and track. but it never closed up..
it's going to hurt for a few months because when you get toyu cartilage pierced it shatters your cartilage and it takes time to heal. it's finee.
