Im taller in the morning than in the afternoon?!

Question: this is just so wierd and crazy. im 19 yrs old male.
i measured my hight once it was morning(just woke up) and i was 184cm then once i measured it at night. ( i was up for along time) and i was like 1cm or so shorter. IM SERIOUS. its even true about my older brother. his hight is 185cm when he wakes up and he goes down for one or so cm in the end of that day.
no answers like: its artifact or that im b.s-ing or im having measurement errors etc...
1.do you know the reason for that?
2. try it yourself and tell me what happened( i'll leave the question open for some days so you can "add details to it".
thanks alot for your respond.

You're taller in the morning because when you are sleeping your spine relaxes and your vertebrae are not so close together, elongating your spine and making you taller. After you get up and the day progresses, gravity pulls your vertebrae down and pushes the cartilage between your vertabrae together, making you shorter.

I believe you.

Your spine is composed of disks and when you sleep they expand and rehydrate themselves with fluids.

As you go about your day gravity and movement control the disks. The vertical pressure they absorb forces the disks to compress the fluids. This causes your spine to contract somewhat.

wow... thats really interesting. the above person answered it correctly probably
thumbs up for you

i'm pretty sure the first person is right.

thats normal i don't know the details as to why we expand in our sleep but we do. we shrink because of gravity or something like that.

It's the power of gravity. The spinal column has discs that allow the vertebrae to stretch and compact, so a person can twist and move. At night you're horizontal, so the vertebrae stretch out, but after a day spent upright, they compress slightly with gravity. If you ever get on an inversion table, you'll notice that afterward you are measurably taller; the table has reversed gravity.
