i would say 3 and a half hours. 4 for sure.
You can actually take both of them together if necessary, because they work differently and the body metabolizes them diffferently.
Ibuprofen and Tylenol are 2 totally different drugs so taking some ibuprofen within an hour of Tylenol is acceptable. However, remember, that ibuprofen can upset or even erode the lining of your stomach if you take too much and Tylenol can permanently damage your liver if you take too much. Make sure you do not take more than 4000 milligrams of Tylenol in a 24 hour period or you will find yourself in the nearest ER drinking some really nasty tasting stuff to try and counteract it.

Essentially, they are two different drugs that relieve pain by different mechanisms.
The two you don't want to mix are aspirin and ibuprofen. A full dose of each will give you a nasty upset stomach, much like taking a double dose of either.
You could probably take a partial dose of aspirin with a partial dose of ibuprofen, but why bother? It's not like you would be making a drug cocktail that would relieve symptoms that neither drug could alone.
And of all of this, the biggest precaution is to not take more Tylenol than recommended, either on the label or by your doctor. It's safe as recommended, but too much is very bad juju for the liver.
you definately can take them together - it recommended all the time. if you are taking them for a peroid of time i would suggest alternating btw them so every 3hours you are taking something. but its always safe as long as you don't exceed the 24 hr dosage
Don't mix the two. Take another tylenol according to directions. It usually take about 4-6 hours before you can take it. Do not mix medicine.
