I know its gross, but can somebody help me?!


Question: i wake up with my throat being really phlemy, and it will last all day long. i gag really easily so it makes me feel like im gonna throw up and i cant hawk loogies cause that will make me gag. is there some sort of medicine or cure that will get rid of it. i am a smoker, i know that quitting would be best, but im not ready for that yet. is there something else? thanks

Try drinking half your body weight in ounces of water every day but put some salt in the water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon or 1/4 teaspoon per quart. Also, stop eating or drinking dairy products and stop drinking anything with caffeine. If you drink orange juice add 1/4 teaspoon of salt per pint of orange juice. This works for me but I add twice the recommended amount of salt.

Try this for a few days and see if it works. if it does, then pick this answer as the best answer if not...

[BTW unprocessed sea salt is preferred but if all you have is table salt it is ok for the short term.]

Sorry, but the only thing you can really do is quit smoking... taking medications such as Mucinex over a long period of time is not a good idea, there have been no studies of long-term effects of those types of medicine.

Your body is telling you that it is ready to quit. You need to listen.
