Does anyone else suffer from migraine headaches?!

Question: due to a woman's monthly cycle? I get these awful headaches when I start and when I finish........I take ibuprofen to stop the pain but it does not help.......The headache (this time) has lasted for about 4 days....Does anyone else suffer from this and if so what remedy do you use? THANKS!!!

caffeine. that why Excedrin works on headaches bc they contain caffeine. but most people who advise to stay away from it during that time of the month it works for me a being in a dark room. not to much moving around bc you will probably fell nauseous as well

YES.

I am on a Rx. It is called Zomig and it works great. Imitrex is also a good RX for migraines. I also take Advil geltabs.

I get mine when I have my period, I have hormone-triggered migraines.

I also take my medicine and sleep in a dark, quiet room. I have a sleep mask I wear during the day when I have a migraine to block out all light.

Also, drinks lots of WATER!!!!!

my mom does and she takes MAD advil haha. i advise tylenol 3
she just sleeps the whole day when she has this

I have migraines sometimes.
The doctor once told me to apply a cold pack on my neck, and then apply a hot pack. He told me to keep doing this and it does something to the nerves.
I tried it once, it worked. I am just lazy and when I have a migraine, I don't want to even move.

i totally feel your pain, i get terrible migranes too and ive tried everything. the most i can do to make it feel better is be in a dark, cool room lying in bed propped up with a pillow and fall asleep. so far sleep has been my only remedy. good luck!

Migrelieve or immigran usually work for me, but there are things available if you want to avoid pills, such as 4head. :)

I suffer from the same thing, except mine start 1-2 days before my period, and then go away. I take a pain killer called Fioircet, which has caffeine in it, so it works great. You can only get them from your doctor. Also, sometimes if you drink an iced coffee, it will get rid of a migraine, because of the caffeine in them....doesnt hurt to try! Do you have a starbucks near you or or coffee house? Maybe a friend can run and get you one.

I have suffered with migraines for a long time. Ibuprofen never works for me. Excedrin does work, but I also have a prescription for Imetrix nasal spray. It is wonderful and within 20 minutes I feel much better. The nasal spray works fast! Last year I was able to go to the lake after only 2 hours! I was amazed.

My headaches are so bad that I can barely move or even talk. I have a neurologist friend and he said there is new stuff out there that could help, but I haven't gone yet to see what that is.

The key, of course, is to find the trigger and avoid that. For me that is stress and lack of sleep. I can take care of these things, but the hormonal issue is something that can't be helped to much.

Good luck. I feel bad for anyone who has this problem, because I really suffer!
