Serious help with cuts and infections.?!

Question: Right, before you start judging me, if you hadn't guessed by my earlier question about getting rid of scars, I self harm, and have done for some years.
And I wanna stop, and get rid off all my cuts and scars.
But I think one of the deeper cuts may have an infection.
Its started to heal over fine, but I noticed the other day it was red around the scab and swallen, I later noticed puss developing under the scab pushing it upwards causing it to split open and bleed etc.
Its really hot to the touch and is really painful. (more so than normal)
Going to see a doctor about it is not an option.
If you are going to just rant about how I'm some 'dirty ******* emo' then please, save you're breath.
I have my reasons for what I do, and I shouldn't have to explain myself to you.

Thanks guys.
Your help is very much apprecated.

Hello dear.
:)

First off, I want to say you've taken a big positive step forward if you're wanting to stop self harming.
I self harmed for over 5 years and recently I stopped as well.
Let me say that stopping, is worth it.
Very worth it.

From the symptoms you're describing, it sounds like you definitely have an infection.
Although you say going to a doctor isn't an option... I think that would be the best idea.
If the infection gets any worse it could lead to blood poisoning (septicemia) which is extremely dangerous.

For the time being, keep the area dry and clean.
Some anti-bacterial soap would be good to use for cleaning the wound, or maybe some Tea Tree Oil, Savlon etc.
As for the swelling and pain, taking some ibuprofen will help quite a lot.

Please don't let the infection get any worse because blood poisoning can make you very sick and if it goes untreated can be fatal.

Good luck.

Oh! As for getting rid of the scars, I'd reccommend putting some Vitamin E cream on them twice a day.
It has helped mine quite a lot, but unfortunately I think scars are there for life... but will fade over time.

You have an infection. Go see a doctor. If its not an option theres nothing anyone can do. You need anti-biotics and failure to get this infection under control could lead to blood poisoning as the tissue turns necrotic and then to death. You also run the risk of having dead tissue removed or losing whatever part its on.

You could leave it alone and it may *possible* heal up, but I don't suggest it. See a doctor, they're understanding and they can help you with your problem.

Beyond that make sure the area stays clean and protected. If its bandaged change the dressings when they become soiled.

you need neosporin, gauze, cotton balls, hydrogen peroxide, ibuprofen and depending on the length and depth of the cut maybe some steri-strips. you need to scrub the **** out of that cut so you'll probably want to take the ibuprofen before you start. soak some gauze pads in peroxide and then scrub off the old scab. squeeze out as much of the pus and other crap that you possibly can and continue to pour peroxide into the cut. once you thoroughly clean out the cut, apply neosporin and then cover the cut with gauze or bandaids. the trick is to keep it clean at this point so reapply neosporin as needed. when you do this the first time it is going to hurt like a ************ but you absolutely need to get all the infected materials out. good luck.

oh and i want to punch emos everytime i see them. i don't know why it's just a compulsion of mine.
