Well.........we can safley say drop the Oxycodone. Maybe he will even rec. a Fentanyl patch. I was gonna get them once but I made the mistake of saying, "Oh give me Lorcet 10/650's" instead. I am toooooo smart to take those anyway, what do you do when those don't work anymore, Kill Yuorself? Nothing is stronger. And that was the end of it. So the Doc was gonna give me a drug 30/40 times stronger than Heroin but not a Lorcet? Why, they do not test for Fentanyl. A lot of people don't know what it is. And the will not tell you it is stronger than Heroin. Covering their butt, not mine. So......And my god I needed something. The Witch didn't give me anything, and MY GOD! I was on the Lorcets for 7 years! My god, it seems it would be logically to ask for that?????????She was just an Arrogant pinhead.

I did everything. And if she never took a pain pill in her life or was never physically dependant, I KNOW MORE THAN HER! Especially with my body, period, fact! But........apparently it didn't matter that is what I was taking, therefore I shouldn't have asked for it. These people are arrogant and sit there like you would to a cop, answer questions. And the thing is, with pain meds I would run circles around her and any nurse a million times over. Like weaning off 200mg's a day of Methadone is a cake walk? You been going there 6 months , apparently and honestly they don't know what the hell they are doing either. You were on 120mg's of Methadone a day, and these schumks think 4 5mg Percs are gonna work on you???????. And it hits you differently and we know these things are junk on you. Apparently your not gonna get them, they suggested to go back on the Methadone, but my god after all that ????? MAn i feel ya. Tooo bad the Doctors don't. They need to be shot up three times a day with morpine for two weeks straight and than tell me if they are just having cravings.

Methadone is the lowest peaking longest acting opiate for pain as of date. Oxycodone, again hits high, is considered stronger but actually gives more euphoria and not always going where it needs to go. You feel it in the head. This is why druggies love it. Does it work better on some people? yes. Hydrocodone works on a lot of serious pain people ;it works better and chemically (I even have the reason for this) it hit the receptors it needs to for pain. Oxy loves to live in the receptors in your stomach. And hitting your brain right where you need to feel," WOw MAn"I guess good if you ate twenty White Castles. When you live in real pain, you do not want to be high. You want your pain gone and why they would make a transistion from Methadone to Oxycodone is completely beyond me.

Try describing your pain in a different way. Words like intense and severe are more effective than hurts bad.

You are right. You don't ever ask for anything as you will never get it.
It works so much better to suggest a medication to a Doctor. that way you are putting the thought in their head. You are not requesting the medication. And they think they thought of it. And will usually try it for you.

Just say something like "I have been doing some research as the medication I am currently taking does not seem to give me any relief. I have heard and read that ......... offer relief to my sort of symptoms in most cases. What do you think?"
That usually get's them to rethink your medication and try you on a new medication.

BUT NEVER ASK. I work with them. i know they will not give you anything you directly ask for.

What is the source of your Pain?? That would be key to solving the problem if it is possible.

Your best bet is to start a journal of your pain. Use a 1-10 scale with 1 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain you have ever felt. Do this for a month (maybe after this appt if he still gives you the percocets). Write down the pain number before you take the med, then an hour later write down your pain scale. As soon as it changes write that down, contine his for a week, or month or whatever. Also look up your source of pain on the internet, print the pages out, and take them with you along with the journal you have been keeping of your pain scale to show him that the current medicine you have been using for pain is no longer being effective. This way he sees that you have been giving the meds he suggested a try instead of dismissing him completely. He sees that you have done your research, and that you are keeping track of your pain levels so that you and him can both see what the level of pain you are in and the level of pain you are in after you take the pain meds.
Showing that you are giving anything a try and proof that it is not working when taken as perscribed should show the dr that you are not just drug seeking and that you are really in pain and need his help. Good luck, I hope you start to feel better.
