Ear totally blocked?!

Question: Since about last Wednesday I am unable to hear out of my left ear. I have used peroxide and over the counter wax removal oil for like 4 days now and nothing is comming out. If i press on my ear and move around, I can hear some stuff in there crunching around (sorry if gross) but if I plug up my right ear (the one not impacted) I can hear my heartbeat and my breathing (as to say, that when i cover my only good ear, i am totally deaf).

is there *anything* i can do or put into my ear safely to scrape out whatever the hell is driving me so mad? My ear canals are so small, Ive never had good ear draninage, and wax never comes out. So i know there is a ton in there blocking it up probably.

I want it out.

Thanks for any answers.

At this point I think you had better leave it to the pros and go see an MD.

Your best bet is to go to a doctor about it as they will have stuff that can safely remove it. From there, you can probably follow up with softener stuff to prevent the problem in the future.

All last summer (and I mean ALL last summer) I had pertussis, which left my ears badly congested for a long time. Decongestants, such as Sudafed (pseudoephedrine HCl), help a little, though not much. I read somewhere that I could clear my ears by holding my nose and keeping my mouth closed while pressurizing, by trying to blow. It worked, but it made a hugely loud noise when it cleared and it hurt a bit... and it didn't last for very long, but did provide some temporary relief and a bit of hope that my condition wasn't permanent! If you have had problems with your ears over a long time though, it is best that you see a doctor.

I am an obsessed ear cleaner and I and always looking for better ways to clean my ears without damaging them.

Well I usually tell pts. to use olive oil drops..however it is already softened up with the drops you used.
sometimes you need to get them irrigated. no big deal.

It isn't going to suddenly get unblocked either...so ya' gotta go to the doc.

go and see a doctor.

At this point it would be best to go to a doctor if you have tried everything you could do. Try placing a hot water bottle or hot pad on your ear and massaging underneath your ear. That might help loosen what is blocking it. Otherwise head to the doctor and he can help you unblock your ear.
