Sleep apnea help?!

Question: Hello, a couple of weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night fighting for breath and after a minute or so, it went back to normal and I cant remember if it happened again that week or the week after. It also happened about a year and a half ago which was worse, but I think it was because I took one sleeping pill too many! I do get tired during the day but that could be because Im overweight and dont eat well really, but ive been reading up on it today because it was quite scary and I dont know whether to go to docs or not. They say you may not notice it all the time it happens, but that it could make you tired..........

you dont always notice when you stop breathing in your sleep. Sleep apnea is when you stop breathing for a very brief time and then start breathing again. This will surely cause tiredness and headaches. I would talk to your doctor about it. He may then request you to have a sleep study, which is where you have wires hooked up to you and they watch you and monitor your sleeping. Then the doctor will get the results and take it from there. This is a major issue. It can even be fatal. See your Dr. immediatly.

Might Be Due To Inflamed Adenoids, I Had To Have Them Removed...

Do you also snore heavily? After several years of this happening to my husband (who is also overweight) I convinced him to go to the doctor. It turned out that he did have sleep apnea and now sleeps with a c-pap machine. He can not sleep without it now becuase he is so much more rested during the day. Before he went to the doctor he actually fell asleep while driving. Lucky for him he woke up before anything happened. I encourage to get this checked out as soon as possible.

go to the docter. u could die fighting for breath. duh
