It can be hard to have to face your fears, but you'll be better off for having done it.
I know it's not much comfort to hear, but this shot isn't too bad. The great part about it (aside from the fact that you're protecting yourself from something much worse) is that the little bit of pain you'll feel only lasts for literally a second. It will just feel like a little kitten scratch, nothing to be scared of.
When you think about it, it almost seems silly to spend SO much time worrying about something that will only bother you for one second! That's how it often is, though- with many things in life, it's actually much worse to freak yourself about about it and worry about it beforehand than it is to actually have it done.
Bring along your iPod if you have one, with some relaxing/fun songs on it, to listen to in the waiting room and maybe even while you get the shot. If you can, bring a friend or family member, too, to hold your hand. It helps to squeeze their hand as hard as the shot hurts. :)
Also, take a deep breath right before you get the shot, and blow it out slowly. Try to keep really relaxed and don't tense up, because if your muscles are tense that will actually make it hurt a little worse.
Don't think about the needle...think really happy thoughts and imagine yourself if your favorite place in the world; it will be over before you know it and then you'll be done with the whole thing.
Good luck hon, I promise you will be fine!

omg i am to but im getting 2 gardisil needles in a month but i already had 1. they do hurt. i felt the same way. if u get it in the shoulder hold ur moms hand tight and take a deep breathe and then breath slowly after the shot try not to cry cause it will make it more painful. im 12. ask the doctors to use ice spray it decreases the pain. and DO NOT LOOK AT THE NEDDLE GOOD LUCK! its better to get shots in the shoulder to. for gardisil ask them to put it in the shoulder. u need gardisil b/c it PREVENTS YOU FROM GETTING cervical cancer and u need to get 3 of them but not at the same time

I'd avoid getting Gardasil all together, too much isnt known about it, but for needles in general I'd bring someone to hold your hand and make sure you take a tylenol or something like an hour before.

it'll be ok, just think of the good the shot is doing you. it'll be well worth it. Good Luck!
